As we age, many of us notice our upper eyelids drooping and sometimes bags form in our lower eyelids. The most direct and traditional method to improve these problems is to remove the excess skin and or fat in these areas. Improvement in the upper eyelids can be performed with local anesthesia and it is preferred to use IV sedation anesthesia to help remove the lower eyelid bags. Either way, the procedures work very well and have minimal healing time, bruising and usually no pain post surgery.
If the skin around the eyes is sun damaged and wrinkled, your surgeon may also recommend a laser peel at the same time as the surgery so that the healing is completed together. The combination of these two procedures will give a more youthful eye complex overall. Results are permanent.
