BOTOX

Botox cosmetic is the most popular treatment for excessive frown/scowl lines, forehead lines, lines around the eyes as well as for lip creases, neck lines and excessive sweating in the underarm area and on the palms.  Kay Aesthetic Dermatology physicians and staff have more than 10 years of experience with the use of Botox. Experience makes the difference between no result and a beautiful, long lasting result. The physician who administers the Botox is more important to the final result than the Botox itself. Years of experience are needed to avoid complications.

Botox cosmetic works on those muscles that you use when you smile, laugh, or squint, including muscles in your forehead, on your neck, and around your eyes. Botox relaxes the muscles and makes your skin look smoother and younger, smoothing out "expression lines" in problem areas, while letting the untreated muscles contract normally to allow you to show normal facial expressions.

The treatment involves using a very tiny needle to inject a small amount of liquid into specific parts of your face, with the sensation feeling like a bug bite. You'll usually see results by the fourth day after treatment, and the results last up to 4 months. After repeated treatments, many people notice less lines in their face even after the Botox wears off.

When Botox is used for excessive sweating under the arms or in the hands or feet, the results can last 6 months or more. Appropriate numbing of the area allows for a comfortable procedure.
