Botox: Non Surgical Face-Lifting

After more than 15 years using Botox, cosmetic dermatologists have perfected its use to correct many facial problems. The main use of Botox is to relax facial muscles so that one does not see deep furrows around the eyes or in the forehead. Millions of people worldwide have this done yearly with complete safety and the results last many months. Those cosmetic dermatologists who have many years experience with the use of Botox can use it for a few more facial problems.

Botox can be used to help turn up the corners of the mouth for those who always seem to be frowning. It can be used to gently lift the lateral eyebrows for a more pleasing look. Lip lines, neck lines and chin depressions can be made less obvious with judicious use of Botox as well.

At Kay Aesthetic Dermatology we can help you with all the above facial problems and this can be combined with facial filler treatments to give the whole face a non surgical face-lifting look. Today the cosmetic surgeon understands that what a youthful face needs is fullness and smoothness. Facial fillers and Botox can give you that while facelift surgery alone does not.

Frequently asked questions about Botox

Q: Is Botox safe?

A: Botox is a very safe cosmetic material when administered by a well trained physician. All dermatologists have been trained in their residency programs in how to use it. Unfortunately, there are non trained physicians and even non physicians injecting Botox in the U.S. This has given rise to many dissatisfied patients.

Q: Why does Botox seem to last longer in some people than others?

A: It seems that each person has more or less thicker and stronger facial muscles than other people. Once your dermatologist gets to know your face then a more accurate amount of Botox will be administered to give the longest lasting result for you.

Q: How do you charge for the Botox treatment?

A: Botox Cosmetic comes with 100 units per bottle. Most dermatologists charge by the number of units used. This is a more fair way to charge the patient as each person needs different amounts of Botox for their treatment. If more improvement is needed for wrinkles then they can come back in for the added amount and they will only be charged for how much Botox is used each visit.

Q: Are there different types of Botox?

A: Botox Cosmetic is a registered trademark in the US and although there have been other types of medical grade botulinum toxin used around the world safely, it still seems that our Botox gives the longest lasting results.
